In this case, you can choose a design from a variety of options and then have it crafted to fit your specific needs. Maybe you want to size it up by a few inches or change the color to suit the spatial/ambient experience you wish to create.

The Journey: Custom vs Bespoke

While we make sure that every single rug is crafted with the same love and care, the crafting process can be different for custom and bespoke rugs. Let’s look at both.

Custom Rugs:

For custom rugs the process is as simple as 1-2-3.

Step 1: Choose the Design and Color

Select an existing design from our collection that also matches the fibers and texture you are looking for. If you found the right design and color to suit your project, then move on to Step 3.

If you want a color variation, specify the color palette of your choice. We use the world around us as our source of inspiration, and so our color palette is inspired by the hues of nature. The ivory of a bed of pebbles, the silver strands of a dandelion, or the mocha of a bountiful harvest – we have it all! So, you can also give an inspiration image for a specific color that you want, and our artisans will do their best to match it. From there, simply provide a corresponding Pantone reference name and number and move onto Step 2.

Step 2: Request a Sample

To confirm that we have the right color match, we can provide you with a yarn sample that is called a lab dip. To ensure we are locking in on the right color, we will include dyed yarns that show variations of ±25%, as all materials absorb color differently.

If needed, you can request a rug sample (strike-off) for an additional cost, so you can see it before we start crafting the rug. This gives you a realistic look at how the rug will look in your space and lets you make color changes, if necessary.

Step 3: Choose the Size and Borders

Once you’re satisfied with the sample, we’ll start crafting your rug! The rug will be cut according to the size you requested, and the border will be stitched from among the various options available. (Check out Resources / Carpet Finishing Options on our website, or discuss with our sales team.)

Before you know it, your custom rug is ready to be shipped out to adorn the spaces you are creating for your clients! Custom rugs made from carpet with only size and finishing customization typically ship in 2-4 weeks from Georgia, while custom rugs with adjustments to size and/or color typically ship within 12 weeks from India, via air (2 weeks) or container (2 months), depending on the desired mode of transit.

Step 2: Customization

Step 3: Request a “Strike-Off”

We also provide a sample for bespoke rugs (the strike-off), before the final rug is crafted. This is a scaled-down version of your final rug and will give you a good idea of what the larger version will look like, ensuring the final rug is perfect, right down to the last detail. It will also give you a chance to make any changes that you may need before the rug is actually crafted.

Step 4: Crafting

Once all the details are finalized, the actual crafting process begins. Our team of master artisans will begin to craft your bespoke rug with the utmost attention to detail.

For bespoke rugs, the typical time to complete the rug is approximately 14–16 weeks from all approvals, and from there, shipping from India via air (2 weeks) or container (2 months), depending on the desired mode of transit.
